The Ramsey
The Ramsey contest is one of the longest running races in Southern California. It is unique because it circumnavigates Catalina Island, starting at the Isthmus and continuing counterclockwise around the backside and finishing at Avalon. The course is especially challenging owing to the fact that there are no buoys and all marks to be called are features on the shoreline. The conclusion at Avalon Harbor and the awards banquet at the Catalina Island Yacht Club facility are a favorite for all.
